Join the police: Be a force for all
The Home Office national campaign to recruit 20,000 new police officers is the biggest in decades and represents a commitment to increase police numbers by 20,000 new officers over the next three years.
As part of this activity, Police Now will be responsible for recruiting a large number of outstanding graduates to become the next generation of leaders in policing.
Join the police to make a real difference to some of the most vulnerable people in society, while developing leadership skills for life in a unique environment no other graduate opportunity can offer.
Police Now graduate programmes are challenging and intensely rewarding. You’ll get used to performing under pressure, with a continuous cycle of growth and development. We’ll develop your skills in negotiation, problem solving, decision-making, as well as your resilience and emotional intelligence, allowing you to perform at the highest level as a police officer.
Join the police: Be a force for communities throughout England and Wales
Police Now recruit high-achieving graduates from diverse backgrounds, especially those who haven’t previously considered policing.
We believe our officers should be as diverse as the communities they serve.
With a representative and diverse workforce, police forces are more effective in improving the public’s confidence and trust in policing.
Our 2019 Police Now National Graduate Leadership Programme participants represent a wide range of backgrounds. Together we are stronger.
We strive to inspire and train graduates who are representative of the communities they serve:
• 58% of our applicants had never considered joining the police
• 17% are from a black, asian or minority ethnic background
• 50% identify as female
• 13% identify as LGBTQ
• 51% are the first in their family to go to university
Join the Police: Police graduate scheme for outstanding graduates
Police Now’s national graduate programmes are unique graduate schemes especially designed to inspire and train ambitious graduates to become leaders in policing.
Our salaried two year programmes start with an intensive multi-week academy course, followed by 2 years on the job training in a specific community with your chosen police force.
Over two years you’ll be given the freedom to own and develop innovative ideas and techniques to tackle some of the long-term problems affecting the community. You’ll see and experience real results from the work you do during our programmes.
Our leadership and development officers will be with you every step of the way, helping set ambitious objectives to develop your leadership skills in an environment no other graduate scheme can offer.
