Full Terms and Conditions

  1. The website IMPACT competition is open to anyone aged 18 years or over except for those that are currently working for the Promoter or the police force. The competition is accessible via the Police Now website at policenow.org.uk and will run from 9am 25th September 2017 to 1pm 8th December 2017 inclusive (“Competition”).
  2. In entering the Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the Competition.
  3. To take part in the Competition you need to visit the website and submit your details through the online registration form. You will then be given instructions on how to complete the challenge and will be guided through six different community scenarios, answering multiple choice questions (the answers to which have been pre-set with either a high score, a middle score or a low score). Throughout the scenarios , you are scored on crime reduction and confidence increase. At the end of each community scenario (Community 1-6), you will be shown your impact score for that community level, which is a combination of your crime and confidence score. Once you complete the challenge(all 6 communities), you will be given your overall impact score (a combination of all community scores). This is the final score recorded for the purposes of the Competition.
  4. Only one entry per person is permitted in the Competition.
  5. The prize is £250 in Amazon vouchers.
  6. The website winner will be the individual scoring the most points by the end of the Competition. In the event that there is more than one individual with the same winning score at the end of the Competition, the winner of the prize will be selected at random by the Promoter from all participants with the same winning score.
  7. The winner will be notified by email no later than 15th December 2017 and will be required to respond to the notification email within 14 days, confirming their details. The winner will be sent their prize within 60 days of responding to the notification email.
  8. In the event that the Promoter is unable to contact a winner in the Competition or has not received a response within 14 days of notification as winner, the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw their prize entitlement and offer it to the individual who recorded the same score or the next best score in the Competition (to be selected in accordance with Condition 6 above).
  9. The results of the Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into, except with the winner.
  10. The prize is as stated, is non-transferable and no cash alternatives are available. The Promoter reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award an alternative prize of equal or greater value, should the advertised prize (or any element of it) become unavailable for any reason.
  11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility in the event that the notification email and/or follow up correspondence and/or prize fail to be delivered to a winner due to incorrect or incomplete email addresses or other contact details having been provided by that winner.
  12. By entering the Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you as part of the Competition entry may be held and used by the Promoter and its agents for the purpose of administering the Competition.
  13. The winner’s details from the Competition (full name and, if applicable, University) will be available for 6 weeks by sending an SAE to Police Now IMPACT Winners c/o Tonic Agency Limited, 5 Ireland Yard, London, EC4V 5EH after 5th January 2018.
  14. The winner in the Competition may be contacted to take part in future publicity.
  15. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or temporarily suspend the Competition in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or technical reason outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.
  16. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liability or injury suffered by a participant in the Competition or occurring as a result of the winner taking up the prize, except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter or its employees.
  17. The Competition and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  18. By participating in the Competition, entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. A winner will be disqualified in the event that the Promoter discovers that they have breached these terms and conditions in any way when taking part in the Competition.

Full Terms and Conditions

  1. The University IMPACT Competition (the “University Competition”) is open to students enrolled at the following universities (a “Student”) where Police Now will have an exhibition stand on the dates listed below:

University of Manchester – 26th September 2017

University of Liverpool – 28th September 2017

University of Leeds – 3rd October 2017

University of Sheffield – 5th October 2017

University of Nottingham – 10th October 2017

University of Leicester – 12th October 2017

King’s College London – 17th October 2017

University of Southampton – 19th October 2017

University of Cambridge – 24th October 2017

University of Oxford – 2nd November 2017

 

  1. If you are a Student and you wish to take part in the Competition, you will need to visit the Police Now stand at your University on the relevant date (where a computer will be provided for you to use).
  2. For the University Competition, you will be guided through a community scenario, answering multiple choice questions (the answers to which have been pre-set with either a high score, a middle score or a low score). Throughout the scenario, you are scored on crime reduction and confidence increase. At the end of the community scenario you will be shown your impact score, which is a combination of your crime and confidence score. The overall impact score of each Student at the end of the community scenario will be the final score recorded for the purposes of the University Competition.
  3. Only one entry per person is permitted in the University Competition.
  4. The prize is a £250 Amazon voucher for individual use and an additional £250 for your University to spend on a widening participation project, the contribution of which will be determined in advance in accordance with Conditions 6 and 7.
  5. The winning Student will be the individual scoring the most points in the University Competition across all of the Universities listed in Condition 1 above. In the event that there is more than one individual with the same winning score in the University Competition, the winner of the prize will be selected at random by the Promoter from all participants with the same score in the University Competition.
  6. The winner will be notified by email no later than 17th November 2017 and will be required to respond to the notification email within 14 days, confirming their details.
  7. The Promoter will contact the winning individual’s university directly to agree the details of the initiative to which the prize money will be applied and to award the £250 donation for the widening participation project. The winning Student’s entitlement will not be withdrawn because their University does not wish to participate.
  8. However, in the event that the Promoter is unable to contact a winner in the University Competition or has not received a response within 14 days of notification as winner (in accordance with Condition 7), the Promoter reserves the right to withdraw that Student’s prize entitlement and offer it to the individual who recorded the same or the next best score in the University Competition (to be selected in accordance with Condition 6 above).
  9. The results of the University Competition are final and no correspondence will be entered into, except with the winner.
  10. The prize money is as stated, is non-transferable and must be used for the purpose agreed with the Promoter in accordance with Condition 7.
  11. The Promoter accepts no responsibility in the event that the notification email and/or follow up correspondence fail to be delivered to a winner due to incorrect or incomplete email addresses or other contact details having been provided by that winner.
  12. By entering the University Competition, you agree that any personal information provided by you as part of the University Competition entry may be held and used by the Promoter and its agents for the purpose of administering the University Competition.
  13. The winner’s details from the University Competition (full name and University only) will be available for 6 weeks by sending an SAE to Police Now IMPACT Winners c/o Tonic Agency Limited, 5 Ireland Yard, London, EC4V 5EH after 30th November 2017
  14. The Promoter reserves the right to amend or temporarily suspend the University Competition in the event of any unforeseen circumstances or technical reason outside its reasonable control, with no liability to any entrants or third parties.
  15. The winner of the University Competition may be contacted to take part in future publicity.
  16. In entering the University Competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and the Promoter reserves the right to verify a winner’s eligibility before entering into discussions with the winning Student regarding the use of the prize money.
  17. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter accepts no responsibility for any damage, loss, liability or injury suffered by a participant in the University Competition or occurring as a result of the use of the prize money, except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter or its employees.
  18. The University Competition and these terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
  19. By participating in the University Competition, entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions and all further entry instructions provided at the Stand. A winner will be disqualified in the event that the Promoter discovers that they have breached these terms and conditions in any way when taking part in the University Competition.
