Merseyside Police
Larry Brown | Police Now Graduate
Merseyside Police believe in putting communities first in everything they do.  They are proud to deliver an excellent policing service and will continue to work with their communities to tackle the issues that concern them most.

Police Now has recruited, trained and developed graduates in over 30+ forces to become police officers and detectives on our national graduate programme since 2017.

Merseyside Police

Merseyside Police was formed in 1974 and serves a population of around 1.5 million people, covering an area of 647 square kilometres.

The Chief Constable is Serena Kennedy, who was appointed in April 2021 as the first woman to lead the force. With a strong focus on community policing and tackling serious and organised crime, Merseyside Police operates numerous local policing teams and specialist departments to keep more than 1.4 million residents safe. The force works closely with partners and communities to address crime, support victims, and build trust across its diverse population.

Our focus on diversity and inclusion

Merseyside Police are committed to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Our mission is to serve our communities. The most effective way we can do this is if the people who work for us are representative of our communities.

We are working hard to increase diversity and inclusion where communities are currently under-represented.

We want to encourage people of diverse backgrounds, experience and beliefs, who share our value of caring and want to make a difference in the community, to work for us.
