Press release

Happy Pride Month

For Pride month, we heard from Joshua Lumsden who after serving in Northumbria Police for six years, recently joined Police Now as a Senior Manager in the Curriculum Team, managing aspects of the curriculum to ensure that diversity and inclusion is at the forefront of what we do at Police Now.

“I’m open and relaxed about it, and sexuality shouldn’t be an issue. While I was working as a police officer, sexuality didn’t come into it. I was doing my very best for every community. I was lucky enough to be involved in various LGBT+ events across the country, representing the police service in a positive light. Since joining Police Now, the role has given me the opportunity to use my policing experience and knowledge of diversity and inclusion to help shape our curriculum and our future leaders in policing.”

Joshua Lumsden, Police Now Curriculum Phase Manager.
