Police Now achieves Great Place to Work Certification

Police Now achieves Great Place to Work Certification

Thursday 5th August 2024

Police Now has been awarded the Great Place to Work (GPTW) Certification, which is the global benchmark for identifying and recognising outstanding employee experience within a workplace.

GPTW uses industry-leading data, research and insights to measure employee experience and benchmark organisations across a variety of sectors. It measures a number of factors including respect, fairness, sense of pride and leadership.

When employees were asked if Police Now is a great place to work, the organisation scored 24% above a typical UK based company, and 94% of employees said they ‘feel good about the ways we contribute to the community.’

Penny Jerrum, Police Now’s Chief Operating Officer, said: The wellbeing of our staff is always a top organisational priority. We believe that in order for us to achieve our mission of reducing crime and increasing public confidence in policing, we need the best possible people who are motivated and energised to serve our mission.

“Everyone within the organisation has worked hard to build a culture we are proud of, and I am delighted that this has been recognised with a Great Place to Work certification. Achieving a truly positive, fair, inclusive and diverse workplace is an ongoing journey and there is always more to be done, so I am excited to continue listening to colleagues about their experiences – celebrating successes and identifying areas for improvement. This approach ensures we can lead in authentic and meaningful ways within the policing sector and provides our colleagues with an environment that allows them to thrive – bringing their unique skills, experience and passion to drive improvements across the policing sector.”

In addition to being GPTW certified, Police Now is a member of Inclusive Employers and climbed twelve places in its Inclusive Top 50 UK Employers list last year. The organisation is also recognised as a level 2 certified Disability Confident Employer and a member of the Race at Work Charter – which signifies Police Now’s commitment to improving equality of opportunity in the workplace.

Sarah Lewis-Kulin, the Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place to Work, said: “Great Place to Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience…By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Police Now stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees.”

Police Now recruits, trains and supports outstanding and diverse individuals to become leaders in society and on the policing frontline – with a mission to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour and build public confidence in policing. The organisation, of just over 100 employees, has recruited and trained over 3,000 officers in partnership with police forces across England and Wales via its award-winning programmes, and supported over 900 officers via its additional frontline leadership training and progression support.
