Police Now are pleased to announce their new partnership with Liverpool John Moores University to co-deliver a Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice.

Participants joining the Police Now National Graduate Leadership Programme or National Detective Programme from 2022 will complete their Graduate Diploma in Professional Policing Practice in conjunction with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Participants will work towards achieving their Diploma alongside the rest of their two-year Police Now training, achieving full operational competence in their force.

The partnership will sit within the School of Justice Studies under the auspices of the Professor of Policing Studies and Director of School, Daniel Silverstone. The programme will be underpinned by the the College of Policing’s Policing Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF) Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP).
Participants will complete a series of assignments that will allow them to explore, reflect and think about current issues in policing. The assignments will draw on participants’ own experiences as Police Constables or trainee Detective Constables, and the impact they are having in their communities. Participants will be required to review relevant academic literature and study online content in criminology and evidence-based policing. Assessments undertaken over the course of the two-years will be validated by LJMU and marked and moderated at a degree-level standard.

This exciting partnership will see Police Now’s programmes continue to innovate within the policing sector, collaboratively equipping participants with a range of skills including core policing and emotional intelligence throughout the two-year development programmes. Police Now aims to transform communities by recruiting, developing and inspiring outstanding and diverse individuals to be leaders in society and on the policing frontline. Driving positive change for communities today and for future generations, officers on these programmes share a commitment to delivering social change and public service.
